Woods just tweeted that he’ll be on the sidelines another week: Doctor’s orders: sitting out the #attnational. I’ll be in Philly to support the event. Feeling stronger every day, but not 100% On June 7, Woods said on his website that while he would not play in the U.S. Open, he hoped to be ready for AT&T National and the season’s last two majors. He is suffering from a Grade I mild medial collateral ligament sprain to his left knee and a mild strain to his left Achilles tendon. The injuries occurred while he was hitting an awkward shot from underneath the Eisenhower Tree at Augusta National during the third round of the Masters. He did not play in the Wells Fargo Championship and he withdrew after nine holes of THE PLAYERS Championship. After his early exit at TPC Sawgrass, Woods was photographed on crutches with the lower part of his ailing left leg in a boot. According to his swing coach, Sean Foley, the two have not worked together since the week of THE PLAYERS. Now the golf world will be wondering if Woods will be ready for the British Open, which will be held July 14-17 at Royal St. George’s in Sandwich, England.
