Algonquin - Report Date : October 9, 2021
Dominant Colour : Orange
Colour Change : 100 - Leaf Fall : 40
Best viewing : The fall colours along the Highway 60 Corridor are beautiful! The crowns of trees still have extensive colour, but we are starting to lose the red and orange leaves. The understory of the forest, which is what you would see while hiking along the trails, is starting to turn colour. There are still good reds and oranges from Maples, the Birch and Aspen are turning yellow and the Oaks are starting to turn copper. Tamarack remain mostly green.
Following high winds and rain, leaves are starting to fall and you will see some bare branches, but now the forest floor is becoming a beautiful carpet of red, orange and yellow leaves.
